Darcy Malone & The Tangle – “Still Life”, “Make Me Over”, “Pure As Gold”

Featuring ALL 3 releases from DMATT!

(KLIF’s Note: the following is from the band’s FB biography)

“It can be hard to be a rock musician in New Orleans, and we knew we needed elements to make it a little different,” says Darcy Malone, lead singer of Darcy Malone and the Tangle. “What we’re trying to achieve is rock/soul, with elements of something catchy—something like Ike & Tina Turner meets XTC.” The inherent contradiction in those disparate reference points is the driving force behind Darcy Malone and the Tangle. Since its inception, band founders Malone — daughter of the Radiators’ Dave Malone — and her husband, Tangle singer/guitarist Christopher Boye, wanted a project unburdened by traditional genre limitations.

Hats Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate – “Broken But Still Standing”

*BWNR July Album of The Month*

The BWNR choice for album of the month is the 3rd album from the “Gentlemen” and the 2nd album featured on BWNR (“When the Killcode Fails”). In the tradition of  the great melodic, progressive rock bands, most notably in our opinion, The Moody Blues & Pink Floyd, this album flows from track to track. You cannot listen to this one just once! Their music combines progressive rock, classic rock, acoustic, blues, metal, folk, funk, minimalism, and electronica. Their music often explores scientific and philosophical themes.

The Grand Masquerade – “MMXVI”

A new act has entered the rock scene! The Grand Masquerade is a 4-piece band based in Stockholm with a unique image; combining 80’s rock culture with the Venetian Opera and Masquerade scene from the late 19th century. The music genre is best associated with AOR, Melodic and Glam Rock. The musical inspiration is influenced by bands like KISS, Queen, and Def Leppard among others, and the music itself is exceptionally arranged with a modern twist. This is not your average rock band, nor is it just another rock show. The mystique from the masquerade is integrated with the energy from rock music to create an extraordinary audience experience and event.
