For The Week Ending August 14, 2021
- Country Dominates Top 10 As Country Music Fans Express Approval
- Log Jam at #25 With 5 Songs Tied
- Sister Lucille moves into #3 In Anticipation of New Album
- Progressive Rock Band Naryan Big Winner With 3 Songs on the Chart
Country, Americana, & Folk-Oh My!
This week’s chart couldn’t be more different than last week if it was planned. Country, Americana & Folk music filled most of the Top 25 slots this week as the listeners voted often this past week to let us know what they liked. We also introduced a lot of new songs during the week by new artists as well as new singles from the BWNR family of artists too.
The song that rose up the chart the most was Bill Abernathy, promoted by MTS Management Group, when his song “Who Are You Who Am I” moved from just outside the Top 100 to #11 on the chart this week.
Naryan Makes History
Naryan joined Apostle this week as the only band in the history of our charts to have 3 songs in the Top 100 during the same week. Represented by progressive rock label Progressive Gears, the band’s long awaited album “The Withering” has been a huge success with Progressive Rock fans as “The End”, “Black Swan” and “You Are The One” all made this week’s chart.
#25 Is A Popular Number
The #25 spot on this week’s chart seems to be a popular number with 5 songs tied for the coveted position: Jeremy Parsons, Mrs. McBright, Brandon Bing, and Thrifty Malone.
Sister Lucille’s “Gone” Moves To #3
But the biggest surprise lately (okay not that big) has been the way Sister Lucille’s single “Gone” has started to skyrocket up the chart. Over the past 3 weeks, it has risen from outside the Top 100 to this week’s #3 song. The band announced recently they have started recording the follow-up album to October 2019’s award winning debut “Alive”. If you live in Florida, you’ll have multiple chances to see why they are making headway when they start their Florida tour later this week. Check out the band on Facebook to find out more.
Vote, Vote, Vote
Many songs made this week’s chart because of getting “ratings” when their song is playing. BWNR does not conduct fan polls so hitting the “thumbs up” or the “up diamond” on some devices can make a difference. An example of this is the #20 song from Shadowfields “Much Ado About You” beat out the #21 song by one point in our rating system formula.
